Whites in Seattle.... or not

So we may not be the Whites in Seattle anymore... We are planning a September move to Calabasas California... thats 10 minutes south of Malibu for all you non cali people :)
We are so excited, and a little stressed..... A lot has happened this past month!
We found a great house and are currently working out all the details. Hopefully everything works out... we are trying to really listen and rely on God to show us where he wants us.
Here is a recent family pic as a visual update :)

Hotel Snob

So another Blog that I follow was talking about camping and "roughing" it. I had a long argument with myself and realized that if I am being totally completely honest that "roughing" it to me... is a bad hotel. My husband has always called me a hotel snob, but I would always brush the comment off insisting that I was NOT. Well... I am. If a hotel smells funny, well.. I turn up my nose! I really am a Kimpton, Ritz loving type of gal. I mean after all who wouldnt be???

Are you a hotel snob??

The wedding

So my best friend from High School got married. WOOOOHOOO!!! The wedding was absolutely beautiful, everything went off without a hitch... well except for the two of them getting hitched... badum chhhh....
It was so great to meet some of her friends that I entrusted her to during the college years. I have to say that I got the long end of the straw when she decided to move to Seattle. Now we get to spend the best part of life back in eachothers lives.
He HUSBAND John is great.. and its a little weird that we both married guys with the same name :) So like us...
Doesn't she look beautiful!!!!???

American Idol

Ok so for those of you who know me, you know that I am not the biggest American Idol fan. Just never caught my attention. The past few seasons I would watch the competition on and off... never to upset if I missed a few episodes. Well, this season....all that has changed.
It was all I could do to keep from throwing my water bottle at the tv when they voted Alison off. The girl has got talent!!! So I decided that I was partially to blame since I never actually voted.
Last night was my first voting spree... over and over and over I dialed 1-866-436-5702, 04, and 06
Even convincing friends that were Adam fans... not to be. Hopefully we made a dent in the voting pool. I finally had to call it quits when my husband said "ok, um, I cant handle another beep from that freaking phone. Stop voting."
We will see tonight if the beeping paid off!!

Who did you vote for??

The winner...Twitter.

Ok so I decided to go ahead and try out the Twitter phenomenon. I stuck with it for a couple weeks and to be completely honest.... I am addicted. It is so much better then I thought it would be. I still am not a "update my status every hour" user...but none the less it is on my every other day check list. Give it a shot... it is interesting to follow celebrities on there. You would be surprised what comes out of their twitters....

To TWITTER or not to twitter....

Ok so I am sure that by now most, if not all of you have heard of "Twitter". I just dont get it. I am open to the idea though because in all honesty I was a Myspace junkie and didnt understand the need for Facebook... that is until now. Now I am a Facebook junkie and hardly ever check my former love...Myspace.
So what is the deal with Twitter... everyone seems to love it. Celebrities, Pastors, friends. Why have one more place that you have to update your "status"?
So what is your take on it? Are you a tweeter? Convince me.

Sorry

So Sorry. We have been very behind on keeping up with our blog...

A lot has gone on in the past few weeks.

Our good friend Kayla from St. Louis has visited us, and another good friend from STL, Justin, comes in this afternoon.

ALSO! Ashleys best friend from High School just moved to Seattle with her fiance. Totally Awesome.

Both girls are doing great. Lilli is still growing like weed, well they both are for that matter. She is still teething and that makes some days a little more difficult then others. Lilli and Ashley have started painting together at a ceramic painting place. Lilli totally loves it.

Olivia is getting SO big. She already weighs almost 10lbs. She has even roller over a few times!! WAAAY ahead of schedule.

Here are a few pictures to catch up.

Wedding Flashback

So our good friends Faith and Jeremy Smith came and visited us the week before last. It was SO much fun. Seriously we could ask for better friends! Now we just cant wait for their next visit, and for us to meet up in Vegas this summer :)

Anyways, Faith copied some pictures onto our comp from their October 2008 wedding. Jonathan was a groomsman, I was a bridesmaid (a big prego bridesmaid in fact) and Miss Lilli was the flower girl...it was a family affair! This is one of the pictures that Faith gave us and I just had to share it!

Olivia Edith White

Well she has arrived!

Olivia Edith White was born January 13th at 10:45pm weighing in at 5lbs 10oz and 19.25 inches!

Her birth was such a different experience from Lillian's birth... both amazing in their own ways.

Contractions came and went for weeks, strong then nothing, mild then nothing, mild, then strong, then nothing. So we were pretty disappointed when Carly and John (good friends that came to help when Olivia would be born) had come and gone... and still no baby.

So Tuesday night we were watching tv with normal mild contractions coming and going when all of a sudden one HUGE contraction came on. So strong that I couldn't sit still!! At first we thought. "well this may be another false alarm so we will wait and time them for an hour" (as previously instructed by Dr.)...but then 2 minutes later there was another, this time even more intense to the point where Jonathan said, "are you ok? your starting to worry me". I was a little shocked as well by the intensity... ok I was REALLY shocked... I told Jonathan, "we need to go... NOW".

So as Jonathan sprinted up the stairs to get our hospital bags, cell phones, chargers etc I called Sara (our amazing nanny). I told her "ummm well the baby is deff coming... Im not sure we can wait for you to get here to leave (she was coming to care for Lilli while we were in the hospital) but we are going to go next door to see if the neighbor can come and keep an ear out for Lilli (she was already asleep, thank goodness) until you get here."

So Jonathan ran next door to get the neighbor... no answer. We both were on the verge of panic, seeing as I didnt want to have the baby on the kitchen floor, in the car, or without an epidural for that matter. Luckily we found their cell numbers and woke them up! Zac (neighbor) came running over just in time to see me trying to breath through a contraction in the car, he gave me a thumbs up and with that we were off to the hospital.

Now I know that speeding is bad, there are a reason of speed limits. HOWEVER when your wife is literally about to pop a baby out... you speed. Jonathan did absolutely amazing. He got me to the hospital in 10 minutes flat. Seriously he is my super hero!!!

When we got to the hospital the nurses were moving at a decent rate, of course not fast enough since I could tell just how far into labor I was but as soon as the nurse checked me her eyes got big and she said "Uh she is 8 cm" then there were 3-4 nurses swarming around us doing all sorts of stuff to me and asking us questions for paper work, one nurse even stole another patients wheel chair to get me into my delivery room faster. That nurse ROCKED. The whole time between contractions I kept asking "what about and epidural, what about an epidural!!!'

There was no time... dun dun dun... there was time for a Spinal though!!!! (I know you are all as relived as I was :) ) However this took a nurse physically squeezing my iv bag in order to get a full bag of fluid in me in order to get the spinal in enough time before hand. It was all crazy. I am so thankful for those nurses! They were all so awesome.

The Spinal was incredible. No spaghetti legs afterwards! I literally got up and walked around after delivering Lilli!

So we arrived at the hospital and within 45 minutes little Olivia was born.

Jonathan was even able to help deliver her, which was incredible. INCREDIBLE!!!

She is such a miracle, and we are so so blessed to have our to little girls!

Update update

Sorry I am so behind on keeping everyone updated... things have been a little crazy.
Still no baby sister... but we are working on it :)
Christmas was wonderful, Lilli thoroughly enjoyed it! Food, presents, mommy and daddy play time for almost a full week (Jonathan was working from home due to the huge snow storm we got)
Lots to catch up on with lots of new pics.
However- Trying to get this baby sister to come out, Carly gets in to town in about an hour, nanny will be here in 2 hours, and I still need to get ready for the day.
SO.
If I am unable to update with pics soon, I promise there will be little sister pictures!!
xoxoxo
-thanks for all the prayers :)
